The city of Aligarh has good connections with many other cities. One of the oldest as well as the longest highways, the Grand Trunk Road, crosses through the city. Airport which is nearest to Aligarh is at New Delhi, the Indira Gandhi International Airport at a distance of about 160 kms. Road links are well established to Noida, Delhi, Faridabad, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Agra, Meerut and many other nearby cities. On a day to day basis, commuters are seen traveling from Ghaziabad, Noida, Delhi, Greater Noida and Gurgaon for work purposes. NH 91 and NH-93 passes through Aligarh. Yamuna Expressway that is proposed to start from the city of Delhi to Agra is under development and it would be passing through Aligarh.

By Air

The airport nearest to the city of Aligarh is that of the New Delhi, at a distance of 130 kms, which is an international and domestic airport, with good accessibility from various parts of the country by air. Plenty of airlines have their flights regularly from and to the city of Delhi, from where cab services are available to Aligarh.

By Train

The railway station of Aligarh is located in the line of grand chord of delhi-kolkata, due to which it is having good connections to many cities in Uttar Pradesh and India. Aligarh junction is the main station and it has many trains going to the cities of New Delhi, Kanpur, Agra, Benaras, Lucknow, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, etc some of them being express trains while others superfast.

By Road

Many national and state level highways are connecting the city of Aligarh with many other cities in Uttar Pradesh. Buses ply regularly to and from Aligarh with connections to Agra, Jaipur, Mathura, New Delhi, Ghaziabad, Varanasi, New Delhi, and Lucknow, to name a few. The buses belong to the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation and also the private agencies.
